Healthy Eating - Hythe, Maidstone, Kent
Being healthy nowadays is much more than just about eating your ‘five a day’. Our demand for food means producing enough of it to feed us all is a real challenge for farmers and fruit and vegetable growers. Our vegetables are fast-grown to cater for seasonal and geographical demands. Our soil is becoming very depleted of the natural minerals the earth used to have unending supplies of. And so special fertilisers are used to produce quick-growing crops that don’t contain enough of the nutrients needed for a healthy body. Modern farming method crops are harvested faster giving them less time to absorb nutrients, and the use of fertilisers can interfere with a plant’s ability to take up essential nutrients from the soil in which they grow. Our demand for exotic fruits, for example, rather than eating only seasonal fruit, means it’s picked unripe, travels on boats for weeks to get to the food storage depots and then stays in cold storage often for a long time, (a Kiwi fruit can stay in cold storage for up to 4 years before being put on supermarket shelves). Fruits are sprayed with pesticides, many grown in poly tunnels, and in some cases artificially ripened. The site of a green pineapple, green-tinged oranges, hard mangoes, melons and plums is now a common site. So if you think about how much goodness is actually present in the fruits and vegetable you eat, eating organically can go some way to help. Traditional English apples are now grown abroad. Cox’s, Braeburn and Granny Smith apples are grown in New Zealand and South Africa so we can eat them all year round. An English apple when it’s harvested in summer and autumn happily goes into cold storage for a few months and will be just as good eaten in late winter, but they're grown outside of the UK, which means handling and transportation is a factor that affects their potency as with other fresh foods grown in other countries and transported to the UK.

Battery chickens as we know are injected with antibiotics as standard measures. All supermarkets now have whole aisles of convenience ready-prepared meals. Our busy fast-paced on-the-go lifestyles means we’ve grown out of the habit of cooking all-fresh food when we need it. The health message here is don’t buy food with bar codes on it. Climate change worldwide means wheat doesn't ripen well and often yields a poor harvest in Autumn as a result. Wheat can't be sown again later in the year when the earth is wet as it rots in the ground. The grain in storage around the country is becoming depleted and so UK farmers have to plant spring wheat, which doesn't yield as well as summer wheat, and doesn't contain as many nutrients. Think about all the wheat products which are the main part of our staple diet - bread, flour, biscuits, cakes, pasta, cereal, pizzas, chocolate milk drinks, soups, battered fish, soy sauce, gravy powders.

Our healthy eating habits have changed over the last 50 years or so because of all these factors. We just don’t get the same amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from our food as we used to. Obesity is at an all-time high as is diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Regular food intake too high in fats and sugars. Fast-food outlets encouraging this trend. It’s not your last unhealthy meal that affects your body and your health, it’s the last 1,000 unhealthy meals. Any or all of these factors could account for the fact that an estimated 74% of us now take supplements.
According to a report published in the Journal of HortScience (U.S.) - the average vegetable found in today’s supermarket is anywhere from 5% to 40% lower in minerals (including magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc) than those harvested just 50 years ago.

I endorse all their products 100% and I know from my own personal experience and those of my customers that their supplements are producing really exceptional health results in people lacking a balanced diet. The number of scientific studies of their products continues to grow, and they hold a seat on the board of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, established in 1937 and based in Washington.
premium nutritional formulas work when other supplements often don’t because of their:

Your body isn’t designed to digest tablets. Your digestive system reacts best to food. These supplements are a food taken in powder form, dissolving in water and being absorbed by your body immediately.

All vitamins and minerals perform at their best when combined with other nutrients in the right proportions. Vitamin D helps with the absorption of calcium… vitamin C powers up vitamin E etc etc. This is called synergism, and it’s the foundation behind all their formulations.

Optimal Nutrition
Higher levels of outdated RDA’s are now essential to good health and well-being.

Guaranteed Quality Ingredients
Their ingredients come from the most reputable suppliers and undergo rigorous testing at each step in the manufacturing process. And because they own their own manufacturing facility, they guarantee 100% product purity and potency in every can.

All their products are soy-based. Studies continue to illustrate the many benefits of soy as a superfood:

• Reducing the risk of developing the lung disease COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and other respiratory symptoms. The flavonoids in soy foods act as an anti-inflammatory agent in the lung.

• Lowering the risk of diabetes and heart disease risk. Eating soy foods has been shown to lower cholesterol, decrease blood glucose levels and improve glucose tolerance in people with diabetes.

• In postmenopausal women, the phytoestrogens in soy may slow bone loss. Also many soy foods are high in calcium and also contain magnesium and boron, which work together with calcium for better bone health.

• New studies show that soy may help reduce cancer risk - including breast cancer risk in post menopausal women.

• Soy also helps improve mood, memory and other mental functions in women and men.

A recent scientific breakthrough in soy health means a soy peptide called Lunasin is now included in these supplements. This means that Lunasin increases the potency or efficacy of other bioactive nutrients, and provides multiple health benefits that support:
Cholesterol management, inflammation reduction, antioxidant benefits, improved immunity, overall cellular health, and the list keeps growing.
